The new Pacific collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso creates intimacy in the almost "protective" seat, for an enveloping idea of comfortable relaxation. With its round and oversized shapes, it evokes the relaxed and relaxed atmosphere of the American West Coast, from which it takes its name. Pacific is the continuation of the design process begun with the iconic Redondo collection designed by Patricia Urquiolan in 2010. "It is the evolution of a collection that has had and is very successful in recent years also for the innovative and luxurious use of surface finishes" , says Patrizia Moroso, Art Director of the company. "With Pacific, on the other hand, we worked more on the shape in the plan and on the current return of curved and generous lines". In the Pacific sofa the soft shapes are enhanced and defined by the total absence of edges and by the “couture” details. The soft and woolly fabric, chosen to create an extraordinary tactile effect, can be, for example, a refined bouclé, a soft wool or a luxurious velvet.

A new fabric for a new way of sitting. The new sitting philosophy will likely come closer to the concept of lying down. The seat height is lower than normal, and the open design of the piece of furniture allows greater freedom of movement. The spatial dimensions, the overlapping patterns and the use of color are central considerations in the design of the fabric. The first sketches and scale models by Scholten & Baijings consist of soft rectangular daybeds that lend themselves to various uses: sitting, leaning, lounging or relaxing, alone or in company. The use of fouton typical of Japanese homes served as an important source of inspiration. In the second phase of the project, the idea of using the ancient Ottoman Empire as an imaginary starting point was born. The footstool is also called Ottoman. Ottoman history provides splendid examples of decorative fabrics for interiors combined with low seating, aimed at encouraging social interaction between people. The images evoked are those of drinking tea, smoking a water pipe or the joy of a shared meal. In addition, there are several examples of brightly colored fabric designs with clear graphic patterns used in open and spacious interiors. The furniture design is different from that of the fabrics. Ottoman design is characterized by rounder, softer and more organic shapes. This contrasts with the angular color compositions of the fabrics, creating a magnificent symbiosis. However, they both work effectively on their own as well. Shell in injected flame-retardant polyurethane on internal steel structure. Cushions with insert in fireproof polyurethane foam, polyester fiber and memory foam chip. Base in powder coated steel. The Ottoman collection is not removable.

Born from the desire to break free from the angular and cubic lines typical of modern sofas, Josephine is characterized by rounded and sinuous shapes that give life to the armrests and back, three distinct pieces that embrace the seat like the petals the corolla of a flower. The proportions are gentle, further lightened by the seat visibly raised from the ground. A product balanced in its proportions that evokes its femininity from its name, a deliberate reference to Joséphine Baker, an emancipated character and icon of provocation in the 1930s, known for her African-American beauty, but also for her marked irony and her transformism. Available in sofa or vis-à-vis variants designed for contract, but easily declinable also in a domestic version.

In addition, the collection will also include variations in red, green and gray. The surprising variety of shapes transforms spaces into landscapes wh ere harmonious colors and patterns form the glue between the various elements. All fabrics are made from sturdy and exceptionally comfortable materials from Febrik. Non-deformable fire-retardant polyurethane foam with different densities and polyester fiber with internal wooden structure. Sofas with painted beech feet screwed to the structure. The Sushi collection is not removable, with the exception of the cushions.

The Modernista project is inspired by tailored men's suits: wonderfully sewn garments, with a refined taste for materials and details. Modernist strictly follows the geometric structure of the rectangle, within which it is possible to explore light shapes and exact proportions. The light padding is softened by the use of buttons that recall a delicate capitonné workmanship as well as creating a delicate and elegant decoration. A refined collection with a classic flavor designed to offer discreet elegance to those environments that require a touch of lightness, without sacrificing attention to detail.

Blocks blunted by the cut of an imaginary blade. The geometric order is broken, overwhelmed in favor of a movement, of a margin that crosses the perimeters. The faces show the ribs; some seams, evident as basting, draw it, others disappear. Use is free, the surface is soft. The external shape, fr om the point of view of volumes, appears independent of the structure and internal padding. Sofa, armchair, small armchair: a modular system wh ere each element maintains its character independent, for function and sculptural presence. Seat in fire-retardant non-deformable polyurethane foam with differentiated densities and polyester fiber with internal wooden structure. Back and armrests in injected flame-retardant foam with internal steel structure. The M.A.S.S.A.S. it is removable. The fabrics of the collection are coupled with polyester fiber and polyurethane to give special support to the upholstery.

The Gogan collection owes its name to nature and in particular to the Japanese stones smoothed by time and water, which were a source of inspiration for this project. This is the name of the Japanese stones placed on the banks of rivers and lakes to protect and embellish the banks. The shapes of the sofa, as well as those of the armchair, are reminiscent of soft stones sculpted by the wind and water, massive but at the same time soft, on which to rest. As in the stone sculptures, where the stones are balanced by virtue of the joints and position, in the sofa and in the Gogan armchair the balance between the elements is given by the shape, not too regular: thanks to a play of gravity and balances, shapes that should be heavy can be light. The seats are soft and irregular and the seat structure is slightly inclined towards the rear; this gives the pieces of the collection extreme comfort and allows to keep the backrest lower. Back and seat are joined by buttresses that give an idea of lightness.

A project born from the search for a rigorous and measured comfort, containing but with a hint of deformation. Gentry communicates tradition, distinction and belonging, in the rediscovered courage to contrast with subtle irony, the negative judgment of the term "bourgeoisie". The sofa first of all expresses a way of being, a sensitive attitude prone to restoring the balance between discipline and free gesture. The large independent back and seat cushions make conventional as well as casual positions comfortable: “good manners” re-evaluate behaviors that are sometimes disapproved of, it is nice to lie down, rest, read. The Gemma collection has evolved around the idea of contrast and the experience that comes from the perception of a shape. The sharp asymmetry of its three-dimensional geometry contrasts with the softness of its padding. Its faceted profile evokes both a precious stone and the typical compositions of Italian tapestries of the fifteenth century. The collection is representative of the synergy between the complex geometries of Libeskind and the well-known know-how of Moroso. Libeskind was deeply inspired by natural geological forms: crystals, gems, natural rock formations. For the Moroso collection, the design incorporates the asymmetrical facets of gems and has a dual meaning: to create a sculpture for the home or office and to connect with Libeskind's work. Non-deformable fire-retardant polyurethane foam in different densities with internal structure in resin-coated polystyrene. The Gemma collection is not removable.

The structure is embraced by knitted straps that slip between the soft cushions, encouraging pure relaxation. The pleated lining emphasizes the undefined light-heartedness of the shape, accentuated by the use of knitted fabric for the belts that contain it. A deconstructed sofa with an atypical construction: an aluminum structure that can be freely composed by combining the different components that interact with each other in the name of harmonious customization. A functional sculpture, an enveloping and comfortable reading chair, resistant but at the same time light, suspended as if to defeat gravity. Paper Planes was born from the design of a fabric inspired by graph paper: a shape derived from folding and pointing paper exploring shapes and structures, producing angles, lines and polygons. The apparent simplicity, however, requires a masterful sartorial skill. During the basting phase, the lines of the decoration, given the geometric particularity of the seat, impose a perfect convergence, not leaving the master craftsman the slightest margin for error. Cold-foamed fire-retardant polyurethane foam with internal steel structure. Base in square steel tube painted with matte finish. Steel insoles with brass or chrome finish. The color combinations of the Paper planes collection coverings shown on the following pages are recommended by the designers. Versions available in graphic jacquard, with Swarovski crystals or in Hallingdal plain color and embroidered designer signature. The Hallingdal solid color version is available at the same price even without an embroidered signature: specify WITHOUT EMBROIDERY on the order. The Paper planes collection is not removable.
